Newbie here.
I'm making my center spar webs at the moment and I made a mistake by flaring the holes in the web before laying out and drilling the six 1/4" bolt holes. I'm thinking of correcting this by placing a piece of 3/4" MDF board in between the two webs (with a hole cut out of the board for clearance of the flared holes), clamping the whole thing together tightly, with the two flanges set against each other as specified in the plans, just with a 3/4" board offset instead of being flat against each other, and then drilling the 1/4" holes. Does this sound like a reasonbly safe method for getting the holes aligned properly? Seems to me, drilled either way, that the piece would still be floppy enough before being mounted in the fuselage to allow enough play to get all 6 bolts in place properly.
