OK, I am wondering what some other people are getting for measurements for the overlap on the front and rear skins. I put my wing jig together and placed it on the fuse. By the time 6B5-5 is in place and I place the front skin up against the front of the rear attachment, I have about 34 mm of overlap on the skins. I read somewhere that this distance is supposed to be approximately 24 mm and I am 10 mm off. I have a set of damaged factory drilled skins, that I plan on using as a drilling template for my skins. When I place them in position, the center spar lines seem to be dead on center, as well as the front gear upright, but my rear gear upright sets off of the rear gear channel rivet line and is more towards the rear seat back. I will have to do some more research on this, but it just seems off to me. I am just worried about the 34 mm overlap. The rear skin is also a factory drilled skin and I have the right amount of distance from the front of the lower longeron to the edge of the rear skin. I think it is 124 mm off hand. Let me know what some of you have for overlap distance. I am just curious.

Hi Larry,
I don't have the overlap measurement handy since I am at my office and the plane is in my shop. Since it is 23 degrees out there this morning I am not willing to walk out there.
However, I did have interesting problems joining my front and back fuselage. In my case, the baggage floor wasn't long enough to meet the flange in the bulkhead. I came up around 20 mm short.
I called ZAC about this and had a nice chat with an engineer named Kevin about all this. It seems this is the time when all the precision in your firewall and other angles show up. We went over several potential issues and agreed that I could proceed without undue risk of life and limb. I just added a wide "L" on the bottom rear end of the baggage floor to make the connection.
I would suggest you look at your overlap issue with normal rivet edge distance issues in mind and decide if you have a useable overlap or not. It wouldn't hurt to give ZAC a call on this one too. That is what you pay for when you buy a kit or plans - technical support.
Good luck,
Paul
