Its starting to get cold here in Iowa, and I just finished fitting the wing skins on my 601XL. After polishing them with Scotchbright, I caught a couple days with temperatures in the high 40's and 50's. So, using the Dupont system for aluminum, I applied the acid etch, washed off, and applied the Alodine solution and washed off. I didn't get the slight brownish-yellow tint to the metal surface like I had when using the Alodine in the heat of summer. It still looked like polished aluminum. Then the next day after the temperature had risen to 55 degrees in the shop, I painted them with the Dupont zinc chromate primer. Even with a small heater blowing on the sheets overnight, it got down to 40 degrees. Has anybody experienced painting in low temperatures like these and does it cause any problems?

I won't even try to paint if it is below 68. I also have a real big furnace in my garangar. Very Happy
