Here is the situation. I am putting in a Dynon AOA Pitot Tube and I have my Gretz mount in hand. I will have two lines running from my wing root out to the pitot tube, so with that in mind I would like to ask the group…
Where (what bay) are any of you building or flying Gretz customers putting your Gretz mount in?
So far I am leaning to the bay just outside of the tie-down on the outboard side of that bay. My only issue is getting the pitot and AOA lines past the aileron belcrank. Here is my thought and I would like a sanity check from you more experienced builders as to whether this setup would work?
I can run the pitot line along the forward end of the main ribs along the bottom until I get past the aileron belcrank. Once past that I can move up to the pre-drilled holes in the center of the main ribs and run inboard to the root from there. For the AoA line, I was going to run that line between the second and third lightening hole close to the top skin all the way to the root.
Thank you in advance for your input.

Thats pretty much what i did except I needed to run wires because I thought the heated version was coming out "any day now"...
For now I am running the Vans bent brake tube method even though I cut the skin for the Gretz mount. Its easy to swap out when I go heated....I'm doing my IFR training and I'm a little nervous without a heated tube.

After I got off the phone with Dynon today, the latest word on a heated AOA/Pitot is within a couple of months so I will probably pre-wire for heated as well.

Scott,
I am building an RV-6A (slow build) and am also using the Gretz heated Pitot/Static probe. I located mine outboard of the tie-down in the right wing. I routed the tubing in front of the spar until I got to the probe location. There are lightening holes in the spar at that location so it was easy to drop the lines behind the spar to the probe.

I installed the gretz heated pitot. Works great on the ground. I took a decent number of pics, scattered throughout this gallery starting on about page 3.
Hope this helps.
