Hobby! Hobby! This is no d&^%^ Hobby! This is life. This is passion.
This is what I live for, what I work for, what I gave up xes for! Hobby?
You nuts?

Ok, I'm ok. I'm calming down. I'll go to the hanger tonight and hook
myself up to the rivet gun. Get another fix.

John, you've hit on one of my conundrums. My wife calls my involvement with
RVs a "hobby" but that has always seemed an inadequate description that to
me trivializes it a bit -- as we all know it is much more than that.
Passion? Sure. Lifestyle? That too. In the end I have yet to come up with a
word that I think adequately describes this avocation we are all so into.
Anyone have a better way to describe it?

Oh yeah! ADDICTION!!! I admit it. I'm addicted. There appears to be
no relief ..... repeat offenders abound.

Addiction. That pretty well sums it up. When I finished my first
airplane, I expected that would be the last one I would ever build, but
after a year I found I missed having an airplane project in the
basement. I'm much happier now, with something to look forward to when
I get home beside dinner and TV

You know you are addicted when you call in sick to final sand your fuse
for paint, and then you start skipping meals to get things final
mounted, then you start not sleeping because you are out in the garage
just doing that one last step so you can quit for the night, but that
step leads to ten more....shoot, why am I on the computer when I could
be out there fitting wheel pants?
My wife is so used to hearing I will be right there, and me showing up
two hours later, she now calls me on my cell phone out in the garage to
tell me it is time to turn off the compressor and go to bed. She is
threatening to put the circuit breakers for the garage on a timer and I
can earn my time in the garage by doing work around the house, I told
her I would hire her a handy man as I was too busy to discuss house
work. I say this tongue in cheek, because those of you that have met my
wife know she gave up her manicure because she could not put in the
rivets fast enough and she has taken to calling herself "Rosie"

Now I will share the ultimate sign of a spouse addiction to plane
building, everyone has seen the new tattoo's the women are getting on
their lower back, right above their butts? Well my wife asked the other
night if she should get a N289DT tattoo in that location, and being a
dunce I did not get it until she explained it, her tail number, get it?
I was drinking a coke at the time, and it was not a pretty sight, we
laughed all night on that one!

Insanity, perhaps too much to give up for the end product. Even if the joy
is in the journey.

But then why do I think about the Rotoway helicopter, or a Supercub clone or
making a new composite sailplane from scratch.

It all come down to a shortage of something we all face...TIME.

It's a battle.

Daniel,

Sorry to say this, but you left yourself wide open. Don't forget where your
hands should be, not just your aircraft's tail numbers.

Why just take a bite of the cake when you can have the whole thing and be
better off for it.

Makes for a healthier relationship.

Ooops, I think I am straying into a branch of medicine which I am not
licensed for...sorry!

I am only asking for pictures of your dual battery tray!

THX for reminding me, I will call the welder on the way home and pick it
up, shoot some pics for you. He called me last week and I forgot to go
get it. I am in the last class of my MIS degree, so the next 25 days are
the long ones.
