Hi All,
I have been thinking of ways to manufacture a tow bar for my tri-gear.
I am trying to avoid the lock on type that would produce a hole in the
wheel fairing. I've been thinking of the lift type used on tail wheels.
Interested in hearing what other tri-gears have used other than pulling
on the prop base. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I would be interested in your deliberations. The course that I am thinking of pursuing involves the front axle bolt with shims to allow for a hooked tow bar. Andy Draper helped draw up a set of ''washers'' to act as the shims but I have not constructed them yet. My system would mean that the axle bolt would protrude through the nose fairing - but as I have not fitted it yet it is not currently an issue.

hi, istead of a standard "bolt" ,what about a hardened steel rod threaded at both ends which would finish flush with the outside of the spat, it would be HOLLOW at both ends to a depth of about 3/4" to accept the fork,
im sure if enogh builders ordered one it would be worth while constructing,

Sounds good - I am not enough of an engineer to create these things but
having read that one should not move an aircraft by its propeller once you
have a VP or C/S unit I wonder how others are coping.
