Gday,
The list is a bit quiet these days, so I'll share this adventure.
I recently visited Thailand, and was hosted by Champ, a frequent contributor to this list. He was a great host, and drove me around to four ultralight airfields around Bangkok.
At one field I saw 7 x 701's, 4 x 750's, and a 601XL. Peter has another 701 at home nearby, and Champ has two 701's under construction. Lots of experimenters, several modified leading edges, only a couple still with slats. Champ is building two sets of wings at once, one with a drooped leading edge. Really interesting work, looking forward to the results!
That's the most Zenith aircraft I've ever seen at one airfield. Anyone seen more?? Not nearly as many flyers as builders tho, so most aircraft sit around most of the time, but that's not unusual anywhere......
At my home airfield, Kilcoy, Queensland, Australia, we have 6 Savannahs (and possibly another coming), and one 701. Every Sunday we have at least five of them flying.
Cheers,
JG
