Commander Folks,
There is a good article about our get together in Chattanooga this year, in the current issue (Fall 2013) of Flight Levels Magazine.

Moe!
Thanks for the tip, I forgot about Flight Line, I used to get the paper version… Wow seems like you guys had a full schedule! Had not even heard about Gadberry's 500U accident… I'm glad he was able to get out of that one.
I'm thrilled that the http://www.twincommander.com group is keeping the piston group in mind and still trying to improve the relationship between pistons vs turbo props.
Great pictures! Sooo was there a specific call on just "eye browed" birds here? Thank God there was at least a round nacelle bird! Scott check it out, there is a great picture in there… by the way, where was 680RR? no triple2 either? that cannot be a normal TCFG! I assume the "Texan" colored 500S is the latest millennium upgrade? who's the red and blue 500A/B in there? (I recognize both Bob's Shrikes).
I'm glad you all were able to attend, I was unfortunately tied to my new job traveling and I'm already anxious for the next TCFG.
For those who have never attend it, read the article! it shows a bit the knowledge you can gain from the scheduled talks out of these meetings, but you won't get all the laughters and incredible stories you hear from this wonderful group of people.
Miss you all & hopefully see you next time!

Peter,
Good to hear from you! Not to be a wise guy but the name of the publication is Flight Levels, not Flight Line.
The weather was so bad in the New Mexico, Arizona area that I just couldn't get off on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday and FSS said that there was a possibility of clearing by Saturday. No one flew in from the west coast. I decided to drive straight through. Hope to see you next year....
Regards,

Hey Adam!
Didn't know about this site at all… Nice tough bird indeed! By the way, it is not a "straight 560." As you can see the nacelles of N424RK are different than your bird, which like the straight 560 have external exhaust augmenters.
Basically same airplane, almost same engine (+5hp), but cabin 10" longer and therefore heavier: from 3900 lbs empty weight for the 560 instead of 4150 for the 560A (same GW 6000 lbs).
Help me out here, what do they mean by "TSOH" of 917 hrs but "TBOH" of 483 hrs? If they did an overhaul on the engine 917 hours ago what do they mean by that 483? Aren't' those engine more like 1600 hrs TBO? therefore it should have 683 hrs left for TBO?
Jim Bob or anyone, have you all heard about this plane? Sure has a great price! Looking at Flight Aware it seems that she is still flying as well.
Unfortunately, I just spent 5 times that price in cash for a downpayment for a freaking tiny house in this part of the world…
My problem is not buying the Commander, but right now I would not be able to drop 70K on it to keep it flying for a couple of years… Too bad I wasn't ready yet to buy 50VE! You took great care of her!
On that note, congratulations on stepping up on Ted Smith's final design. I don't know if you ever saw this picture of the L-3805 TCFG is helping to restore but I was struck on the similarity of the Aerostar & L-3805's fuselages. Check it out. When you see the Blue Goose it does not look like a 520, but indeed more like a high-winged Aerostar.
Good luck, keep in touch, and thanks for making those great videos!
