Has anyone used some type of a quick disconnect for the fuel line at the wing joint of either the 601-HD or 601-HDS ?

I haven't, but there are several references in the archives - try searching for "quick disconnect" (without quotes):

I used them on my original 601HDS that I sold. I have to tell you though… AC Spruce sells a disconnect Part 05-01036. It is nylon and fits the rubber hose ZAC sells perfectly. No leaks…simple and easy. However, Unless you plan on taking the wings on and off (much easier said than done) don’t bother.
