Jim Hi....It's Gerry.Where is FIZY at moment? I'm quite happy to come down and take a look if that's of use.
As you know i'm SW of Bath. If you are still at Thruxton then it's very doable.
Let me know.
Regards
Gerry

Hi,
PV50 -If you find your problem is the pitch-change motor and you find a supplier then I would like to have the details so that I can buy a spare.
It is possible to fit a resistor in the pink supply wire to the motor. It is 2 ohms-10W-RS part no:252-2489.
I love the Arplast/Smart Avionics propeller/controller system. It does take time to understand and setup correctly, particularly the coarse pitch setting to allow a reasonable climb rate on a go around.
I suspect that the micro switches may also need changing in time and even could be your problem. I have fitted the recommended mechanical stops on the pitchchange screw to limit pitch runaway in case of switch or screw failure!
Cheers Ken Atkinson G-CEKV

Jim Hi!
Sorry for delayed response....getting old.
Good to hear you have a good Hangar at Thruxton.
I still have you Mobile number and will try and give you a call.
One of the simple parts of the Arplast system is the way voltage is applied to motor through the hollow prop mounting.
A single thickish piano wire comes from a potentiometer and 'seats' into a brass ferrule at the moment end.
Are you sure that is positioned correctly and also clean, not corroded?
We'll have a chat and I can probably call in later next week as I have to pick up my aircraft engine from Mike Watts in Southampton after a full overhaul.
Regards
Gerry
