I have looked at the wiring on my used model 2 with 582. The wire coming from the regulator/rectifier used to feed through a 5 amp CB, but this was bypassed with a 15 amp fuse. What is the right amperage at this location. Airwolf charts suggest that the output of the charging system peaks at about 12 amps, so 15 amps strikes me as too high. The fact that the 5 amp CB was bypassed suggests that nuisance pops occurred with the 5 amp CB. Is 10 amp the right choice?

Hi,

Fuse or curcuit breaker I would try a 10 amp to start .

I would be more concerned about voltage though. The Rotax regulators send
out more than 14 v and I have seen up to 17 or 18. Spend the money and
have a 13.5 to 13.8 constant voltage from a Key West Regulator.

I will tell you that if your battery gets a bad connection that with a rotax
regulator, that the spike " could wipe out some electronics. ie radio,
gps etc. As the battery acts as a capacitor . The regulator only partly
converts the AC wave to a spiky DC wave and the battery takes care of the
rest.

Hope this helps.
Dave
