Sacha,

The photo over the nose of what looks like a ragged little dirt path right
under the planes nose is actually an old BLM gravel strip up the lake that
ends at a massive drop off at the far end

The density altitude on Tower Butte where the chopper is in one of the
photos dissuaded me from trying a landing there but I think it "might" be
doable.

Truly spectacular locations! Thanks for sharing that! Always wanted to do another US road trip after doing bits of Route 66.... This is definitely the way to go!

The BLM strip is our kind of place. Bet you could land a Kitfox on the heli rock if it's as flat as it looks.

BJ,
I finally woke the up the computer enough to see the photos. I have been
on Lake Powel by boat, and it is no wonder it takes so long to go up river.
Your set-up looks great. Congrats on making better the loss of your
airport.

Steve,

A low fly over the BLM strip showed a lot of gravel washed out leaving
cuts and ridges at angles across the surface of the strip. I passed on the
temptation to land. Too much risk, not enough skill.
