Agree with Olivier. First, why not try transmitting from the rear
cockpit? If the rear cockpit is also not working, then what I would
suggest is discuss the situation with your mechanic with the
understanding you are trying to see if something was accidentally
disconnected or broken while rooting around inside the cockpit. I was
told many, many years ago when something is not working after someone
worked on the airplane, always go back to the last thing that was worked
on first.

You could also slide the Baklan 5 radio (the VHF radio) out of the radio
rack and re-seat it, making sure you tighten the thumb nuts completely
when re-seating it. In fact, ask the mechanic if he removed the "box"
from the rack during the inspection.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.I have tried transmitting from the rear cockpit and have tried using different headsets.
The mechanic says he did not touch any radio equipment.

Tru messing with the swich panel on the original audio panel. As I remember both little switchjes need to be in the up position. By the way, does the intercom work OK?

Have you been told by whoever is receiving your transmission there is no audio and only carrier? Or is it that you have no sidetone in your headsets?

OK. I would remove the Baklan 5 radio from the radio rack and try reseating it.

The radio may have coincidentally gone T.U. If you know anyone with a Yak 52, try swapping out the radio and then test it.

Common problem. All of our "long-term" Balkan-5 radios have experienced this problem. In each case, we sent the radio to US expert and had them repaired.
Mine failed in flight. Return to home base was interesting.
