We are awaiting our inspection for N320XS the first Lightning XS to be built. All systems are working properly and we have about an hour of taxing around.
Made our first full power run today on the runway and i am very happy to report that directional control if very easy and little rudder input is required to track straight. The prop is bigger yes but the prop disc is 7" closer to the cg, this coupled with the correct offset make for good takeoff tracking.
I can tell you that bringing up 160hp on a 1,000lb airframe is a kick in the pants for sure.
Nick

Sierra Hotel, Nick. Sounds like you and the XS are more than ready. And the take off acceleration on the XS will be good training for when you fly your Pitts for the first time - 180 HP on a 700 pound airframe. Best feeling (in an airplane) ever.
