There is a LED replacement that works nicely. Looking it up for you.

I switched all my bulbs (except the landing light) to LED several years back. Got tired of the standard bulbs blowing after just hours of use. Haven't had to replace any of the LED bulbs so far. You can get them from:

Super Bright LEDs, Inc.
4400 Earth City Expressway
St. Louis, Missouri 63045-1328

tel: 866-590-3533 (toll free)
fax: 314-972-6202

Are there ID's on the LEDs?

Careful Dawg. We purchased the led's that were listed in the Red Star article.
They did NOT fit in the Yak. So what ever they were your welcome to them we have plenty.

I don't know what was recommended in the Red Star article and I can't speak
to their use in the Yak aircraft but the "SuperBright" LED's do fit fine in
the CJ for cockpit indicator lighting and the tail light (and external gear
down lights if you still have those).
If anyone is interested I could get part numbers tomorrow.

The only place I found they would not fit without some trimming of plastic
is in the AN/MS series of press to test indicator lights (which I installed
in my CJ). Even though their published dimensions indicate they will fit.
