Yaksters,

I’m bound and determined to reacquaint myself with formation flying this season. This means I need a chute.
In the late 90’s I bought one that fit nicely in the CJ and replaced the bottom cushion. I don’t remember its style or brand.
That chute went away with a former ac. New ac new chute!

So…all suggestions are welcome. I will be planning on buying it before the end of March.

Standing by…250 miles ESE of Craig and Pappy…and not freezing my keyster off as usual MN…

Robert, Gary CJ N22YK here in LAS. I have used the Strong 26 foot Squadron Seat Pack for many years. It makes a great seat for the CJ and is comfortable to set on for long trips. Very well made. I believe they are located in Flordia. gg

I don't think the rules say anything about origin or type of parachute to use.

I also skydive so I take my reserve very seriously, so I will not use anything that:

A.) I can't have send to repack and back in less than a week.
B.) A parachute I have not research and have background information on performance record

I use the seaton "strong enterprises" parachute for my size, also make sure your chest strap is low enough on your chest that it won't cause harm to your neck in the event of deployment.

My 2 cents

Hi javiercarrascob

You mention "Seaton" I take it you mean the type you sit on, seat model?
As you also skydive, what do you have as the chute itself? Round or Square?

As I skydived years ago, I would rather jump with a square if I skydive, but rather have a round as a reserve especially if you are injured or unconsious when bailing.

What is the general view on this?

Especially skydivers seem to think a Pilot should have a square as a reserve and should get training. But what about the odd PAX flying with you?

regards
