I have a Pulsar III and the way I do it to support the mid wing with a saw horse that is heavily padded. It is easy to lift one at a time with two people. Seems to work for me. Cheers, Larry

It depends on why you are wanting to lift it up. If you just want to change a tire, a padded plywood plate under the wing spare or even a block of wood under the end of a main gear leg works. If you want to work on the gear itself, the original slings used in the build would be best.

I jack up my XP using an approx. 30 inch length of 2X4 as a pry bar under a gear leg end. Upon lifting the gear leg, I then slip another wood block under the 2X4 end that is supporting the gear leg to hold the vertical position. If I want to go higher, then I lift the 2X4 end I am holding enough to slip a thin block of wood in place (build up the height of the fulcrum). I can then take it up higher as required...the 2X4 pry bar stays in place as one of the shims supporting the weight on the gear leg. It is quick with no other person needed.

My wheel pants cover the end of the gear leg so I made a two piece wood block with the center cut out that conforms to the gear leg cross section just above the bend that goes down to the axel mount. The blocks fit around the gear leg, one on top the other on the bottom. They are held together with two 3/8 inch bolt and wing nut, one in front and one in back, makes it easy to put on and tighten with no tools. I padded the inside of the cut out to protect the paint. The bottom piece is sanded flat, parallel to the ground. I use an inexpensive bottle jack under the bottom piece to jack the plane up. The blocks will work on either side since the shape is the same.

Thanks everyone. Found the 2x4 with a block worked well and I could do it myself. But I do believe I am going to make a 2 piece Jacking block as described.
