Does anyone have the engine cradle used for stabilization while the airplane is on jacks? Looking to purchase. If anyone has plans on how to build the cradle please forward. Thanks.

I called Doug yesterday. I think I could have one manufactured locally if someone who owns one could send a few pictures. I have a set of wing jacks and tail stand… just need the cradle that the engine sits in. Jon

years ago I have taken pictures of
all 4 CJ jacks from all sides and added
the exact measurements in metric
numbers.
Those are 18 pictures what need to
be scanned, resized and converted
to either jpg or pdf.
To cover my costs, I would have to
ask $60 for the lot plus PayPal fees.
If interested, please contact me off list.
cheers

Ok,,, this is bigger than me. I just had to say something.
Elmar, I appreciate you have some time into taking these pics and taking the measurements etc. I really do.
given that almost everyone on this list has at one time given, or offered excellent FREE advice, that we have all at one time or another consulted.
In the interest of community spirit, I don't think it would be that difficult to take a digital picture of your measurements (what ever they happen to be written on), as well as taking a digital picture of all the photos you took.
It certainly wouldn't cost 60.00 plus paypal...........
Just saying

Keith, tried to respond to your email offline, but it wouldn't go through for some reason. Your offer is very gracious... much appreciated. I think I've got it. I have drawings, pictures and measurements from several generous folks and just need to get to the welder for fabrication. JB

I think it would be simple to get a template for the wood part of the cradle and fabricate that. Then you need to have a welder offset it to a jack. I would have a tripod stand made and get a $49.99 long ram hydraulic jack from Harbor Freight. Have a welder make a sleeve that fits the top of the hydraulic piston to a flat plate that is offset. Bolt the wood bracket to the plate.

You could probably make this for less than $200.

I wouldn't trust the hydraulic jack unless I had a way to pin it....
