Hi all, Steve from NZ.
Does anyone have info on what checks the factory do on Yak55's at the 500hr mark? Here in NZ I'm required to xray or eddie current check the wing attachments and bolts. I presently have the elevators and rudder off to rejuvenate the fabric so wonder if theres any checks done back there or in the engine bay?
Cheers Steve

Hi
Requirement for the YAK-52 in South Africa is 600hours or 15 years.
Can't comment on Factory nor '55 in South Africa.
Just did the YAK-52 now for an X-Ray (engine removed to check mountings, rudder, elevators, panels, wings removed, etc, etc) now and they found 1 x Wing bolt cracked. For the rest OK.
