Phil,
I am glad to be corrected on this – this is good!

Doug,
Thank you for taking action to confirm that with Desser.

Dennis’ idea works - I have had several Desser recaps done this way over the years …

Sam,

Your statement:

"It was mentioned on this thread that of late, Desser no longer accepts
Chinese or Russian cores for recap."

Is not correct. I have a pair of Chinese tires there right now.

Phil

Desser only retreads their carcasses now.

Contact Desser Tire in California. They are the only supplier in the US. www.desser.com. They sell both the 500x150 and the 400x150 tires for both the Yak's and CJ's. They are US manufactured tires for Desser.

Hi All,

Is there a North American tire and tube for the
Cj?

For what its worth, I've had better service life from the Chinese tires than the
Dresser and they are less expensive.

While the Chinese tires have a rather short tread life, when subsequently retreaded
by Desser they last forever.

It was mentioned on this thread that of late, Desser no longer accepts
Chinese or Russian cores for recap. I believe this was a correct statement.

Once recapped, their tires last for a very long time.
