Can i just throw a thought out to you all ,should we move to facebook or twitter ,, I am not a big fan of this old style forum ,,perhaps we could bring this up at the AGM

Jim, I for one would be reluctant. I have a number of
other roles/relationships which take me onto email at
least once a day, whereas I never go onto Facebook or
Twitter unless someone posts a link to something like a
video there. It is no doubt part of being a bit of an old
F**t but I guess that a high proportion of Europa builders

Are there limitations to a list-serve which are overcome in the FB medium?

Of the two, twitter has my vote, (I dislike facebook - much too cumbersome).  That said, old style email works great for me, as it's easy to access anywhere, and it is archived for searching before broadcasting a questionÂ

hi fred ,I dislike the system ,often nothing is formatted correctly ,sometimes if their are a lot of messages its hard work to read ,,ok perhaps my fault for using iphone/ipad but i never need a pc also if you want to search i can only look at lists ,mite just be me
but i follow lots of clubs and airfields on twitter and facebook and its just a easy way of saying hi or i was here and here is a pic

I for one would not use a Facebook or Twitter list system. I do not like either of them! I vote to keep the current system.

Jim & other Europaphiles,
Personally, I'm quite happy with the list server version and am loath to clutter up my Facebook with this quantity of messaging. And I don't particularly care for Twitter in any case.
Just my 2 cents (pence, centieuro, etc., pick your currency) worth.

Jim,
Must be setup issues with your iPhone/iPad. I'm primarily a Mac user. I use iPhone, iPad, Mac, MacBook & Windoze (as this is being written) and have no issues with any. Well, that was almost correct. Windoze/IE has caused problems but Windoze/Chrome seems to work just fine. I'd bet that Windoze/FireFox would be OK as well. If you want to contact me off-forum, I'd be glad to try and go through various setups to see if any help.

Hell no! I don't and won't have a facebook account. They are nor
interested in you, nor in airplanes. They are only interested in money
in whatever way they can get it. They sell everything a healthy
individual would consider "private". Have seen the "like-buttons"
everywhere? They act as little spies: once you are in their system
they can track whatever website you visit, what your interests are, etc.

Exactly has Frans put it! You wouldn't see me using face book or twitter,
Emails may now be old hat but they work for me and with a decent search engine for past topics
Much more user friendly IMO

Hell no! I don't and won't have a facebook account. They are nor
interested in you, nor in airplanes. They are only interested in money
in whatever way they can get it. They sell everything a healthy
individual would consider "private". Have seen the "like-buttons"
everywhere? They act as little spies: once you are in their system
they can track whatever website you visit, what your interests are, etc.
Have noticed their stock value? Divide that by the amount of users and

I use both Facebook and Twitter daily. But vote we stay on Matronics.
