group,
I was cleaning my 447 air filter last night with the K&N cleaner which is pretty strong. Instructions say to spray and leave it on for ten minutes and rinse it off. Well I went to bed and forgot about it. It cleaned up good and looks fine, but i am concerned the cotton may come apart. anyone ever leave the cleaner on that long? Im thinking about ordering a new one from leaf!

Ed D/Kolbers:
I think the instructions are probably insuring you leave the cleaner on for a minimum of 10 minutes. If it was mine, I'd rinse it off, dry it out, oil it up, and use it. Check it periodically to insure its integrity.
I bought a bottle of that spray cleaner 30 years ago. Was expensive. Only one I ever bought. Since then I have used gasoline to clean the filters, air dry, re-oil, and go fly.
Not recommending anyone do as I do, but it works for me.
