I would have to look at those engines. The XS is all about choices, engines for one. The superior XP320 weighed in at 282lbs with out; altenator, exhaust. The jab weighs 182lbs with those items.
Deltahawk lists a 327lb dry weight less assesories. So we are near 50lbs heavier on the nose. I think it would be on the heavy side.
You can tell that N320XS has a heavier enigne on the front. It has a higher rotation speed, and landing speed. This is partly due to the shorter wing, but mainly the weight on the nose. It still flies beautifully and the extra weight does give a more forward CG and better stability. The question is how much more weight would be too much.

I agree, website looks great. Any thoughts on putting in a Delta Hawk or other diesel aviation power plant? My wife are interested in the builder assist program in a year or so before we pull the trigger.

To all.
Mark and Dana have worked hard over the last few weeks putting the finishing touches on our New Web Site.
Still at www.flylightning.net so finding us should be no problem.
With several things happening this year, Arion Aircraft wrote our operating articles in 10 years ago in 2004 to become and LLC, The Lighting XS was rolled out. We decided it was time to give our site a kick too.
So please check it out and see what your think. Feed back is appreciated as well. We are still adding some features to it, and building the gallery of customer aircraft photos. So if you got any good pictures of your jet send it in, exteriors as well as panel shots are great.
Thanks
