Can someone give me a parts source to make a scuba tank to Schrader valve hose. My last CJ had the original bayonet air fitting, so this is new ground for me. You would think being a certified scuba diver that I would know what you call the D fitting that attaches to the tank!

Thanks
Ernie

Ernie,Or you could go to a vol. fire department and get/beg  a obsolete air tank.  Drill out and rethread the INSIDE of the fitting, make up the hose, and your good to go.  Paul Lewis and I recently came up with this after I was given some obsolete air tanks.

I've got scuba tanks. I just don't know where to buy the schrader valve adapter that threads on, like the FBO's use. I can't just go use a tire filler.

No but they have the yoke that fits the scuba bottle. You can get the Schroeder valve from aircraft spruce. Have the air line made to your specs at a hydraulic hose shop. Gary

Drill and tap the fitting in the side of your CJ to accept the Schrader type male fitting which can be purchased at most any good hardware store.  Then purchase a "goose neck hose coupling" from Spruce http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/lgpages/gooseneck.php  Make up the hose to go in between.

Plane is already fitted with schrader valve. My last one had the original bayonet (which I preferred).

I buy mine from McMaster-Carr. http://www.mcmaster.com/#schrader-valves/=sndiic Part number 8063K31. Remove the valve core before using. It is a low pressure valve core and you don't need it anyway because the port is check valve protected.

I've got scuba tanks. I just don't know where to buy the schrader valve adapter that threads on, like the FBO's use. I can't just go use a tire filler.

Ernie,Or you could go to a vol. fire department and get/beg  a obsolete air tank.  Drill out and rethread the INSIDE of the fitting, make up the hose, and your good to go.  Paul Lewis and I recently came up with this after I was given some obsolete air tanks.

Can someone give me a parts source to make a scuba tank to Schrader valve hose. My last CJ had the original bayonet air fitting, so this is new ground for me. You would think being a certified scuba diver that I would know what you call the D fitting that attaches to the tank!

Thanks
