I'm considering getting the Trio Pro-Pilot AP. Anyone have experience with the unit/company?

Ernie, I'am currently installing a Trio EZ autopilot in my CJ. jSingle axis only at the moment. If it works well I will install the pitch axis. Just finished making the wiring harness. It connects into my Garmin Aria 560 for nav. Data then I have wired it for the Garmin SL-40 comm. I will be installing. For frequency data to the comm radio. Still installing the harness in the CJ. in the next few days I will be flying it to see how it works.

PS. Have talked with the Trio people once in the phone. They seemed very willing to assist in any way. gg

Earnie
I've had a Tru-Trak in my CJ for 12 years. Like it very much.

Just a comment, if you ever think you want to go to a bigger system, you
might consider that a Dynon D10 will drive the Dynon Auto Pilot. Now, its
initially a little more expensive (2,200 for the D10A and then $1,500 (2 AP
servos at 750 each). However, if you later want to go to the Skyview,
you'll still be able to use the same servos. Also, I'd recommend
contacting Barry Hancock, he should be able to help you with some plates for
the servo mounting. It made the servo install much easier.

Thanks Bear,

I really don't anticipate wanting glass in my cockpit, I only fly day VFR and not very far. I just want a simple AP for those occasional x-country's or when I need my hands free to fiddle with something.

What would be great is if anyone created any drawings for mounting the servo's, I would appreciate a set, or even pictures of an install would be very helpful.
