Hi all,
Anyone venturing to the AirVenture this year? I shall be there Monday night until Saturday morning. Camping this time or, let's be truthful, staying in an American RV with friends from New Zealand. (RV - Recreational Vehicle, not the aircraft!). Five years since last there when John Wighton kindly took me up in his Europa. Certainly an experience giving way to the F1-11 doing their display while holding at 800ft on final! Looking forward to see John Travolta and his Qantas 707! There is bound to be a BBQ at the Kiwi Camp one night so keep me in touch if you are there. Will be at the International Tent at times, so will leave my card there.

Look forward to meeting the Europa Clan.

Cheers,

Tim

Hi Tim,

Ill be at AirVenture again this year. Had seriously considered flying the Europa up but its not quite ready for that trip as Im still working on bugs found on the Ruidoso excursion. Im driving the F-150 SuperCrew with 4 other friends. Well be arriving Sunday evening. Im staying at a home just northwest of Whitman Field. Ill be volunteering at the One Week Wonder Monday afternoon but beyond that I believe my time will be free. Ill make a point to be at Homebuilders Headquarters at 1000 hrs on Monday for starters. We can try to schedule other meet times if it works out for others.

I'll also be there again this year (Jul23-Aug3), same 'camping' spot in the first front yard from the tower/bus entrance (pic attached not sure if it'll go through - email me for it if it doesn't).  Complimentary Beer Cooler for any parched Europa-ites at the door of the trailer, below the white board - please leave a note to say hi or arrange meet-ups if I'm not around (likely Wink

As I don't have a cell phone in the US, but do have an Ipad, emails/facetime/IM is my only method beyond the whiteboard to communicate while there.
Hopefully I'll see some real Europa's again this year! Last year was quite sparse, with only a fleeting single sighting Sad

Cheers!
Pete

I'll be there too! Saturday through Saturday.

Not taking the Europa though, will be flying up in a DC-3, then camping in the Vintage area. I'd be delighted to catch-up with some Europaphiles!
I'd be happy to give a tour or two of the -3 as well - its the one painted in "ALA" livery from having been filmed in the movie "42."
Cheers!

Howdy!

I intend to be there on Wednesday, July 30th. I won't have my Europa with me as it has yet to make its first flight, but I would like to meet up with the Europa Clan. I am finishing Mod 77 (the pushrod for the rudder), and I will be shopping for a radio, and maybe and ADS-B. I will also be at the Embry-Riddle University alumni dinner just before the airshow.

Hi All,
I plan to arrive as well, flying in from Canada. I look forward to meeting
you all - perhaps we can organize a EUROPA dinner together like we did a
few years ago? Suggestions?
Looking forward, it will be a first time experience working through a 30
page NOTAM to safe ground!

Hey Guys!

Shall we pick a time? If evenings are a problem, how about a breakfast or lunch?

To start the discussion, how about if I nominate Tuesday Lunch, site TBD

Lunch sounds good... Tues works for me. A dinner sounds great too sometime, and may be even more feasible since after the show hours folks may not have as many 'missions' to take care of. There are normally a couple of vehicles avail for carpooling.

Cheers,

Ps make sure you stop by for a cold beer from my cooler (and sign in on my whiteboard if I'm not there). Tower/bus stop entry gate. Although it doesn't look like a cool weather week Smile

Ira,
Tuesday lunch sounds great. Let's get a venue to meet now and time so if communication goes astray at the show we have a time and place. Early in the week would be good.
