|
|
Hi all,
I know I have asked this before and didn't find anything. I am trying again - I just had the MT 260cm prop installed on my Yak 55 and we are concerned about the ground clearance. I have seen extenders that attach to the bottom of the strut to increase clearance.
My question - does anyone have these available for purchase, or does anyone have a pattern I can use to have them made?
Thanks,
Anthony.

My strong advice to people putting the MT prop onto the 55 is to only use
the 250 cm diameter, simply because of ground clearance. The issue is
exacerbated by the fact that the 55 gear tends to sag over time.
However, if you already have the 260 prop, then you really should extend the
undercarriage by some means – or only operate on smooth surfaces and always
keep the tail down!

yakflyr,
contact Wolfgang Seitz, owner of LY-TOY.
He should be able to help you with parts / templates.

Quick question , seeing as I'm using the whirlwind W530 2.5 meter blades on my Yak55m.
Is there any recorded height for Yak55's. where do we measure? How do we know how much if any our undercarriage has sagged. I'm certainly very wary of bumpy strips and always land 3 point.
Thanks guys a great forum.
