Good morning fellow Yaksters,
I am contemplating putting autopilot in my CJ. Cost is a factor as well as ease in installation. I like flying the bird so this tool would be used to reduce my workload on extended CC flts. Thoughts?
Thanks,
ras

I agree with Ernie. This is the simplest to install, and their service is tops if needed. The servos can be installed in day easy. Mounting the instrument in the panel and wiring takes the most time. Weight is not a factor. I've had mine in my CJ for about 3 or 4 years - love it. Makes going to OSH from FL a whole lot nicer.

Thank you Ernie and Pappy. From the website, it appears to be the ticket.

Hi Doc. Gary Gabbard. LAS. CJ N22YK. Just installed the Trio roll axis in my CJ. Liked it, so ordered the altitude portion also. Just received the pitch axis yesterday from trio. So will be installing it in the next few days. Have it coupled to a Garmin Area 560 GPS. Works quite well. After install I will need to install dual alarm clocks in each ear to keep me awake on long X-C's. LOL. Have fun. Gary

I use the GIB-1000 from Facebook. What I typically do is announce that I'm going to fly on Facebook, and say, "Who wants to come along". Bam! Instant autopilot.
