Quote:

LONDON (The Borowitz Report) – In the aftermath of Scotland’s “no” vote in the referendum on becoming an independent country, Queen Elizabeth II, of Great Britain, took to the airwaves on Friday morning to inform the people of Scotland that she “graciously and wholeheartedly” accepted their apology.
“Although the matter of independence has been settled, one question remains very much open,” she said in an address televised across Scotland. “And my answer to that question is this: yes, I forgive you.”The Queen made only scant reference to her obscenity-laden tirade on Thursday, in which she reamed the Scots for even considering breaking away from the United Kingdom.

“Like any parent with a naughty child, I became a little cross,” she said. “I forgive you for provoking me.”
The Queen ended Friday’s address to the Scottish people on a conciliatory note. “Let us all, each and every one of us, move forward now as one great nation, enjoying the benefits and the history of our glorious and historic union,” she said. “Even the forty-five percent of you who are wankers.”

Hi, Fred.
If Scotland had got independence we could keep GMT, then those dark winter nights would not be so long, so I am disappointed.

There is no sensible reason why we mess the clocks up anyway.
Why not make Scotland a new timezone anyway?

Hi Graham.
You may remember we had a trial year many years ago when we kept
GMT, The trial failed because Scotland complain about school children having to go in the dark every morning, and some accident which may have happened, so we all had to stick to this changing the clocks,

I think Scotland having its own time zone would be great, we get that extra hour of daylight, would be marvellous ,

I do remember; great while it lasted. What many refused to accept was that
its better to go out in the dark after a good night's sleep than go home knackered
in the dark and more likely to make a mistake on the way home. Statistics proved the
point.

Also, on average, the UK would have had better weather and a longer life expectancy had the Scots voted to leave...

Yep, Daylight is good medicine, and if we could keep GMT all the year round, we would live longer, So that's why the governments side with the Scots, to get rid of us on pensions, B-------

Graham,
British summer time would be better! Pensioners don’t wander abroad until the streets are aired anyway!! So what’s all this ‘light in a morning’ malarkey?!!

Hello Ivan,
The minister of pension did not know what the average UK pension is.
Well its £113 a week, Us lot are lucky, but many can not afford to keep warm I in the winter. If we keep the time we are on now Summer time it would get dark later on winter days, (I think I had it the wrong way round before and miss lead others Summer time = longer evenings), this is far more healthier in body and mind, England's average weather record would be better, Loss to the economy would improve as people would not be late for work, Us pensioners would live longer, and remember your turn will come too,
The main thing is I can get more done, and my clock is ticking,
Alan
