Yes!

It's not too expensive a system,either.

Sit down. Before you buckle your seat belt, press on the rudder peddals.

If they do not move, get up, exit, remove gust lock.

Return to cockpit.

Put a long bungee on it that hooks to the door handle. Take it off before
you open the door.

Sporty's has a Remove Before Flight key chain. Works well on the control
yoke.

Or, you could use MY method, which is better exercise and uses avgas at the same time!

1) preflight
2) strap in, start engine
3) THEN press on pedals
4) shut down engine
5) exit airplane & remove gust lock
6) repeat step 2.

You'd think I've outgrown that by now, but I still do that once a year, without fail.

When I was transitioning into my 680F, I forget the gust lock. My
instructor knew that I had forgotten it, and let me start the engines and
get ready to taxi, when I realized that the rudders were rigid...oops. Had
to shut down, go out and remove the gust lock. I've never forgotten since.

You have to have blown the gust-lock off at least once on take-off before
the rubber chicken is earned.

Hang a 6 to 7 foot piece of red material (like woven tie-downs) off the gust
lock you insert through the rudder and you cant miss it in your
pre-flight...

Has anyone heard of the guy that just could not remember the lock, and had a
tie down installed and attached it to an aircraft tire full of concrete, and
still forgot and took off with the tire in tow. It sailed sort of like a
trailer... However, this would work to remove the lock if you forgot, and
did not attach it to the tie down Smile
