Frank,
I think I can give a possible eplanation for question 1. I think different
folks will use different resistence ranges in the senders for different
panel indicators / meters. I found the thermister that is used in the
sender for the Westach Quad Gauge and was able to rebuild mine. I suspect
the VDO sender is of a different value than the ring sender for the EIS.
Regarding the ignition wires. If it is similar to the 912UL that I have,
there should be a two four terminal connectors coming out of the igniton
modules. Two of the wires terminate at the connector, I can't see the color
on my engine, but the ignition leads would be continuations of these wires
and taken to ground through the switches.
Quite frankly, though, looking at the diagrams, I can't see how I figured it
all out back then. I sure don't like the European variety of electronic
symbols.
