John,
We are about 15 miles northeast of Custer. Runway is 103.3782W 43.9812N.
Also about 5 miles north of Mount Rushmore.

If you can get the link below to work, that is my strip.

When are you coming by? I don't have hangar space right now, (usually I do)
but do have a couple of bedrooms and tie down space.

Is that it? Where did you put the runway?

Cliff,
Yup, that's us! Runway is clearly visible (highlighted in snow) about one
quarter up from the bottom of the picture and at about 110/290 degrees in
reference to the picture. If you unzoom (?) a bit you can see about 400'
cliffs down into the canyon about a quarter mile off each end of the runway.
(past the big trees at each end that make it hard to land. Wink ) And
just a half mile further east is America's first Space Port. This is the
Stratosphere Bowl where the first balloon flights into the stratosphere were
launched in the '30's. Steve Fossett also launched one of his record
attempts from here about 7-10 years ago. The Bowl makes it possible to
inflate a 400' balloon with little wind problems.

You still need to visit some time. Sept/Oct is great around here.

Thanks for the picture. It must have been taken just before we got the
hangar up.

Randy
