I hung a 4x8 sheet of plywood suspended about 8” below the ceiling of my garage (about 1” above where the garage door “rolls up”) to store large sheets of metal and parts on.  Not convenient to get to, but good for long-term storage.  Oh, yeah, and my wife’s walk-in closet in our bedroom became an airplane parts storage area.
