Good Saturday morning to all.
This no night vfr with a Rotax thing kind of took me
by surprise. I have just shot off an e-mail to the
EAA with the question of, does the FAA restrict the
aircraft from night vfr just because a part used on
the aircraft is not recommended for night vfr?
Specifically the engine.
I will let you all know what I here.

I'd be interested in knowing the answer you get from EAA, but I beleive it applies specifically to SLSA and not ELSA or experimental. It has to do with the fact that regs reguarding SLSA are more like those for standard category airworthiness rules; which makes sense because SLSA can be flown for hire. FAR 91.327 specifically applies to SLSA (paragraph D is of particular interest).
