g'day all,
I'm getting ready to install some of the Van's stick-on heat shield material to my lower cowl and would love to see a picture of where other have placed this stuff and found it successful at preventing burning/blistering.
My install is an angle valve I0360-A3B6D with Van's smooth bottom s-type cowl and Vetterman exhaust.
Thanks,
Greg Puckett

Greg,
I don't have pictures, but here's what I did. First be sure you have0 painted the inside of the cowl with thinned epoxy. Then just put the foil0 down in large areas if the area is pretty flat and in smaller areas where0 it has curvature. In other words, it takes several separate0 pieces. I would say if you cover all areas that are within 60 inches of the exhaust system, you will have no problem. It isn't0very0 hard to do, actually.

Here's how I did mine...

Basically just look inside the lower cowl and put the heat0 shield anywhere the exhaust is closer than about 6".
