I have a Kitfox IV cowling for sale, and a man with a kitfox 3 asked if it is the same cowling used on kitfox 3. ?? Hope someone can answer me on this one.

My understanding is that the model IV has a steeper angle of the
windscreen than the model 3 and while the cowling may fit, it might
need modification around the windscreen to allow for another angle. At
least, that was my conclusion after looking at Morten's model IV at
Stavanger Sola.

I had a model 3 with a 582. When I sold the 582 two-smoke and bought the 912, I had to do the entire firewall forward. When it came, it was a model 4 firewall forward. I called Dave Morris at the factory and he told me the only thing I'd need to do is make a new windshield because of the steeper angle. I did that and all is well! That should answer your question.
