Buz,

  

 Did you get me e-mail about Motels?     In case, I  have a reservation at the Ramada Inn in Murphreesboro for Mon thru Thur. Rate is  $44 & change , includes breakfast. The Knight's Inn next door is advertising  $27.99 (I think, from their billboard driving up yesterday). But I heard some  negative comments about them. 

  

 I got in 3 flights yesterday (Fri) and abt 3 hours. Thirty three more  before I fly it home. Still have some cooling issues, Nick thinks those will go  away as it breaks in and the mineral oil is replaced. Meanwhile it flies great,  just have to watch temps.

  

 Painters will have it next Thur and Fri to clean up some spots, so I'm back  at work those days. I had planned through Thur, but I'll let the painters  finish.  I'm trying to get a project finished at the office. Then I'll be  back the following week.

  

 My EFIS isn't in yet, should arrive Monday. Grand Rapids sent the  Sport model by mistake.

 I could use your help learning how that system works.

  

 First order of Business Monday will be to re-torque the heads and check  valve clearances. I thought the new engines had hydraulic lifters, but maybe you  check then anyhow. Then we can go fly. I'd like to get some airborne pix if  you're agreeable.

  

 I'm sending this to the Lightning List so those interested will have an  update on N17EF progress. Boy, the List has got lively this week! For those new  to the list, N17EF is my new Lightning, 6-cylinder, Light Sport (so no gear  clean-up stuff). With Nick's first flights it has a total of 7 hours. After the  protype and the two dealer builds, mine is the first customer aircraft. We're  working of the bugs now, which should be finished by the end of next week. They  will be posting some pix on the Arion web site next week. If you can't wait,  e-mail me & I send a couple. 

  

 BTW, it really looks great.

Hi Earl,

  

     I'm scheduled for the factory build assist the week of  Thanksgiving, but I would love to see some pictures of your  airplane.   We're trying to work on a paint scheme so would like to  see some pictures of your airplane as there aren't many Lightnings out there yet  to look at!
