Jeff,
I did send them an0 e-mail asking if the 3300 is a certified engine because of the 40 hours fly off0 time for non certified and 25 hours for engines that are certified. I am0 still waiting for an answer.

reasonable distance from me who ownes a completed Zodiac 601 willing
to let me fly their aircraft from either the left or right seat with
them along of course so I can qualify for insurance. I live in
Central Texas close fo Fort Hood. The small town I live in is just a
dot on the map and the closest town of any size is Killeen, It's half
way between Lampasas and Temple. I am willing to pay for wear and
tear on your airplane, fuel, and your time,

I had a conversation with the FSDO here in Arkansas a few months back and asked if an inflight adjustable prop would be compatible with LSA or a PPL holder flying as a Sport Pilot and the answer after consideration was NO.
At the time I asked the question I even hypothesized a system where the power to the electrical inflight adjustable prop could be locked out for a SP. The answer was NO.
I'm not going to narc on you but I thought you'd like to know what at least one FSDO had to say about it.

What we have here is a situation very similar to asking a barber if you need a haircut. If you ask a beaurocrat if something is legal, he or she must answer in the most conservative way possible, just in case someone might think it could be veiwed as illegal under some circumstance. If the power to the pitch control motor is not accessible inflight, ie. the switch is removed from the cockpit and 12VDC power can only be applied to adjust pitch while on the ground, it is a ground adjustable prop. Period.

You are proably right but the scenario I gave him was a switch on the outside of the aircraft that would kill the power to the prop. No removing the control from the aircraft.
Either way this is the same guy who could violate me if he saw me flying the plane as an SP.

As I recall: Ground adjustable - OK. In flight adjustable - Not OK. I don't recall any verbage about how the adjustment is accomplished.

John,
I've been using the AFS water borne paint and have used the Harbor
Freight #43430 HVLP spray gun
to do the primer. Good gun! Totally simple to use and adjust. I've
been using the DeVilbiss GFG 670
spray gun for finish because I found lots less orange peel on my test
panels with it. The DeVilbiss gun is
a later development than the HVLP type even though it is a gravity cup
type also. It meets the over spray
standards held by HVLP and is recognised as being compliant with the
intent of HVLP as well.
The 43430 is about $40 at Harbor Freight and comes with a 1.4 tip.
The GFG 670 is available for $250 from Internet Sources and comes with 3
tips, 1.2, 1.3 and a 1.4mm.
The DeVilbiss gun offers a better finish if you're finicky or relatively
new to painting, but in the end,
you could probably use either gun for finish work that would satisfy.
You need a 70 to 80-degree
day to get a good result with either.
Good luck,
Larry McFarland - 601HDS at www.macsmachine.com
See the paint page or journal section 10, from April to now on the
website if you need further info.
