The proper way to do this is to go to the forum:
http://forums.matronics.com/viewforum.php?f=8
and start a new poll. But before that, one has to list all Kitfox
models and all engine types. I am not sure I can do that. Anyone else?
Cheers,

Probably not, I'd half bet there's one flying somewhere with a Briggs and
Stratton. But it should be possible to list the majors, with a spot for
"other".
Bigs ones would be Rotax 912, 532, 582, Subaru, Jabiru. That likely covers
more than 95%.

I'm guessing none have nose and tail wheels, most people will manage to
choose one or the other. I have seen a picture of one with floats and a tail
wheel.

Guys! ... I think there has been a misunderstanding.
Someone wanted to know how many taildraggers, etc. among us.
I answered that the best way to do this is to start a poll on the
Matronics Forum because they provide such a poll tool.
Most of you have answered to this List and not to the Forum, which sums
up the number of "votes."
I don't know if anyone is gathering the information written here and do
some statistics but I am not.
Should we all go to the Forum:
http://forums.matronics.com/viewforum.php?f=8
and start again by selecting one of the items on the three polls:
One for the type of Kitfox
One for the type of engine
One for the type of gear
Cheers,
Michel

I went to the address provided, saw the "select your model" and found
no way to "vote". You and I both have Macs, Michel...how are you able
to vote and I cannot?

Hi Michel,
I was able to find the vote input for "Type" after searching the different "Poll" posts. (It looks like it only comes up once after you submit to prevent multiple votes per person. That's good.)
I was unable to locate the next poll for engine or gear. Any advice?

Michel:
With all due respect, the web address below only takes you to the forum, and
it's then necessary to plug into the correct message to drag up the poll.
In order to go directly to the poll, go to

The three polls have the same title: Poll: "Which plane, engine and

poll, only with different choices.
The reason I gave the Kitfox forum as a link is that the one you are

.. yes, I know, it gets complicated!
Lynn, nothing special for the Macintosh, once on the forum, select one
of the three: "Poll: Which plane, engine and gear configuration,
please?" titles and the voting poll is on the top. Currently, ten
people have entered their type of Kitfox.
I would like to add that, as Ben says, there is also frappr to show
where we live. The Poll was only to know the percentage of
tail-draggers, etc. in our group. The problem with the forum is that,
everything on this list is mirrored to the forum. Since this list is
very, very active (I am on several lists but this one is about 70% of
what comes every day in my mailbox) there are many, many entries in the
Forum and it's not easy to find it's way around.
In any case, it tells me a few things:
1) Please, change title when the subject changes, but not otherwise,
2) Add - do not archive - when you feel it is not necessary (off-topic
or humour), and
2) Thanks to Matronics for a great list/forum. It gives us all the
tools to make this gathering of Kitfox builders and pilots a great
place. We just have to learn how to use it correctly.

Hooray for me! I finally figured out how to use this poll...and believe
me it's, a B--CH! No wonder we have only 7-11 or so entries so far.
This thing is far from intuitive...witness the fact that we have 11
planes, but only 5 engines, and all 5 are taildraggers....somebody is
running around out there with no engine...and Jabiru is leading the
pack!...and Gary Algate hasn't even voted yet.
Here's what I discovered: if you go to the address Michel provided,
http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=57305#57305.
then by changing the last numbers of the address from 57305 to 57337
(model), and then to 57308 (engine), and finally to 57309 (gear
configuration), you will be able to "vote" for all three categories.
As I said, I found this thing to be far from intuitive, but then, I
own a Mac, and you know what they say about Mac users, we don't follow
the crowd...and other than Michel, we're not very smart. : )
Now I'm gonna go drink a Bud and forget about this stuff for a
while...too damn windy, overcast, hazy, gettin' too stormy to
fly....ratz!
Sorry Michel, I didn't see the other addresses that you provided...they
were way down the page from the first one, and I'd all but given up by
then. : )

Yup, I discovered that too, Mike. The trouble is, I don't go to the web
very often, preferring to get all of this great info via email...who
needs all the pretty pictures and color graphics, and cutesy little
icons and all that crap, when the words that people say are what is
important (off soap box now).
Hell, I'd even forgotten that I had signed on as a member of the
Matronics Forum on the web.

Sorry, guys, this was a big mess. Next time we'll do it more organised.
My intention was to let the forum tool do the counting for us but, as
it turns out, it would have been better to do it manually, on this
list.

Thanks. That works. After much fumbling I had finally managed to enter
both my model number and engine type, but had never been able to find where
to list my configuration. Have now done all 3 thanks to you. You are
right. It's certainly "far from intuitive".
