My 912 just took a spell of rough running between 2000 and 2400 RPM, also noticed ( smelled fuel so shutdown) fuel overflow from right carb.
runs great at high RPM and has a great mag check. Any ideas, am new to the 912.

Check your fuel in fuel bows. Should be very clean. Clint

My guess is that you have a leaking float needle valve. I had exactly the
same problem after a carb rebuild. Every time I flew it would act that way
on taxi back to the hangar and I shut down to fuel leaking from the vent.
I went back to the old needles. Check the bowls for debris that might be
causing a leak.
Also a call to one of the service centers might help. There ate three
needles for the 912. Yours, assuming it is a UL model should be brass in
color. The 912ULS is black and there is a silver one, application unknown.

first off. it is a stuck needle float valve. I replaced mine with also the arm. went and done it again and again. finally I went and put an inline rock filter on both carbs, got from lockwood. because there was always small black stuff in the bowls. could have been from the junk hoses that were on it, changed them to fuel injection hose. Now I have no more problems. been 200hrs. runnin good.

I might add that I have a primer on a 582 that the check valve did not seal
and the gas, via gravity drained into the carb throat. The gas wold drip out
the rear carb.
I too checked the needle vavles etc and took them out and blew them out and
the fuel lines.
The solution was to disconnect the primer and then it was fixed. I have an
enricher that I have used for the last 80 hours in three months with out a
hitch. But I will put a new primer in next time I do a service as the primer
is the best way to start in colder weather which is just around the corner.
FYI the enricher is not a choke as many do refer it too.
I would like to add that I just added another prop to my collection and am
using WARP 68 : 3 blade on a 3 to 1 E box .
Works pretty well so far .
