I asked Skyshop about the mounting issue that Jeff encountered. I have
ordered one of the units and wanted to know what I was up against.
Below is his response.
Gordon,
to answer your question about our electric flap kit for 701, here are our
observations:
- we have installed over 150 of these in our factory built 701s which were
built exactly to Zenith specifications
- there have been only 2 cases where customers told us the actuators were
too long and in each case there was minor adjustments that needed to be done
to the flaperon mixer. Essentially changing the lengths slightly of the all
thread which leads to the flaperons. These variations can be attributed to
inconsistencies or slight differences during manufacturing.
- some builders have tried to put the position sensor on the actuator but
the it is only available in one size and small mounting bracket has to be
made to accommodate the shorter stroke, it's not possible to put the sensor
on the actuator
Although we are busy we our new products from CZAW, we are still here to
help in support of 701 and 601 builders. (We still have summer discount on
selected overstock seats!)
Best regards,
Danny
