I just tried car polishing compound on the aluminum in order to remove corrosion and those pesky white spots caused by sweat and it removed it without leaving scratches. I then used denatured alcohol to remove the compound and the material was left pretty shiny. I used scrap material. I would like to know if this is acceptable and if there is any risk that this may cause any further problem in the long run. I’m planning to order Alumiprep 33 if this method is not acceptable.
