Skystar may be back in business by end of February 2006. I hope they have a

speedy recovery and that LSA boosts their sales.

Skystar ? Kitfox for sure. It is too great a plane to keep down. I have 

studied lots of planes, built or helped build 5 different brands, 

inspected several as a TA, and built 3 Fox's myself.  IMHO nothing else 

even comes close in quality, easy of build, quality of flying ( in this 

type of flying) and most importantly safety. The Kitfox family is also 

the greatest, and it is a family. I know anywhere I go if I need help, 

someone is close. Likewise if you need help, no mater what you are 

flying if you are in eastern oregon, my place is your place, fully 

equipped with a shop and hangar.

there been a purchase of Skystar assets? I know a group was once interested

in buying SS, but I do not know the present status.

Come on down. This is a great place to base out of for Idaho and Oregon 

back country flying. I have a private place in the country with lots of 

room to camp - even a swimming pool when it is warm-, extra cars and a 

love of adventure. I am serious. We would enjoy it.

Just where is this place? I live at Clarkston, Washington/ Lewiston, Idaho

(all the same) and have a daughter at Payette, Idaho on the Oregon border.

Several Kitfoxes up here. Maybe we could arrange some kind of rendezvous?

Are you familiar with a fly-in Bed and Breakfast near Kimberly. I haven't

been there but might be an interesting for a meet. Frank Miles

I can see Payette from my house. Ontario is on the Oregon Idaho border - 

just west of Caldwell Idaho. I am airport manager at ONO. I would enjoy 

a getting together.

I was the police and fire chief in Genesee Idaho years ago ( about 28 

years ago), and my wife and I graduated from U Of I Moscow.

I'm doing some long range planning for a trip in that general direction.

What are some of the must see places in the northwest. The Boeing Plant in

Seattle, Mount St Helen and Crater Lake are on my list, as well as the

Spruce Goose in McMinnville, The Avenue of Giants, and Sonoma Valley.

Anything further inland near you for the return trip?

Just throwing in my 2 cents worth...



Depends upon how far East you can go.  These are

pretty much south of Calgary and a few off my list. 

Don't know about their flight restrictions though.



Hells Canyon



The Sawtooth wilderness and mountains are good.



Craters of the moon



Tetons, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone



Most of central Idaho



Glacier Park Montana



And more if you want to go further south.
