I don't see anything new beyond what I read on the 15th. Am I missing
something?

No but I hadn't seen any mention of the issue here in the Zenith forum. I just came accross it recently over at R.A.H.

I've been to WW's site as well as the Corvaircraft thread, and don't see anything new... What are you referring to?

There are some issues with the crank and WW is now saying all cranks need to be nitrited. Here's the link.

Thanks for the link -- Yeah I knew about the AD the WW issued on the 15th regarding nitrided cranks.
In truth, he told me back in the early fall that he recommended that all Corvair engine builders use nitrided cranks. At the time, the full set of data had yet to be compiled, but as a minimum it provided a good measure of safety. The newsletter on the 15th, is essentially a summation of his research in the area and the issuance of an actual AD.
