Gentlemen:

I have looked though the log books of my Yak 52 and I am trying to see if
there is a statement regarding weight and balance . I am assuming that these
aircraft were periodically weighted during military use. In my case from
Romanian air force. Has anyone seen weight and balance information in the
logbooks and if so where?

When weighing the aircraft, to perform correctly, should the load pucks go
between jacks and aircraft (at jack points) or scales under the tires? Hope
to hear some good advice. thanks

bob Schwartz

Gus Fraser has a wonderful W/B calculator done in Excel that I will email
you separately. There is a slight difference in CG wheels up vs. wheels
down. Not much to worry about if you've removed all the excess radio gear,
etc. from the rack behind the rear seat.

If you have the original Romanian logs there is an actual weighing of the finished airplane. I doubt anybody over there weighed it again.

Robert,
Please remember, in the Russian log books the Yak 52's CG is stated as a
percent of MAC and can be found in section 2 of the aircraft log book. It
will be something like "19.xx" to "25.xx".
