Have slight overspray on my door perspexes. any advice please on what solvents NOT TO USE on this material. Thanx guys. Paul Munford kit 625 trigear

do not use acetone…check out LP Aero’s recommendations which supplies Europa perspex, at least for those acft in the US:

Hi Paul
I just polished off a little bit of overspray with T-cut. Try and practice on a bit of offcut first then mask up so you create a good sharp edge and polish away.

Let me add to the polish it off. Start with good old plexi cleaner. Better living is not always through chemistry.
We use a fine cut polishing compound for removing scratches. Micro Mesh kits are great for this. Follow the directions and go slow without building heat.
Denatured alcohol works to cut overspray off fresh paint. Once a good paint, such as Imron, cures, you'll have to buff it off.
Don't use acetone or any of the "tones.

Can anyone please tell me where in the UK I can obtain the "Satinal pad made by Transelco", which I've so far been unable to track down on the internet. Are there different grades of pad and would the Micromesh polish I use presently do just us well? Thanks. By the way, I've used "Mr Sparkle" as recommended by many others for many years, with no ill effects and it seems to have some filling quality, or am I imagining it?

What an idiot I am! (No rush to agree, please.) I was wrong about using Mr Sparkle as a windshield cleaner, as I found out when visiting the airfield today. I went to look at the bottle of cleaner which I use routinely, to check what ingredients might be listed on the label and to my embarrassment I saw that the stuff is "Pledge". Of course and why didn't I remember? After all, a good aide memoire is "taking the pledge" and yet I still got it wrong. Who says that it's the short-term memory which goes first? All of mine seems to be letting me down and I can only hope that nobody took my earlier advice.
