Thanks for the warning but I never intended to start my engine by propping it since the ignition does not have a retard position. My engine has never started when the weather was below 60 degrees. The battery would have to be stoned to not turn the engine over at all. Also I am putting in a jumper connection that can be used without pulling the cowl.
Also the "Guard" for the mag switches I intend to use is more like a side shield.
I plan to fabricate them from aluminum but they will serve the same purpose as these:
