Guys,
After grafting on the cowling extensions I finally came around to cut
the cowling halfs to length. This is the result.
As you can see the prop extension of the GT propeller (made to specs)
gives the cowl enough clearance so that it fits over the ULPower 390iS
without any bumps or cheeks as those that were necessary on D-ELIY to
fit the ULPower 350 engine.
The disadvantage was that the cowl halves were a bit too short, and I
had to make those mentioned extensions to the rear. But cutoffs Nick
sent me made that job quite simple. So if you plan on one of those
nice 6cyl. ULPower engines get a 3-4" prop extension to save you the
hassle of making cheeks. And ask Nick for cowl cutoffs in time.

ps you can see the prop extension and the sliprings for the electric C/S
prop

Gerd,
It will be nice to see the finished product and the performance numbers. Thanks for the continuing update.
BTW, I hope you continue to practice your Jenga building as well....the international competition is only a few months away....
