Updating the repair status on N195KF: Welding complete. Spring Gear back order 13 weeks, Purchased tube gear from Roger Standley of the list for back up; thank you Roger.
Last coat of polyspray applied this morning, will start on the polytone tomorrow anticipating a week or so of spraying, masking and color trim.
The big delay will no be the fiberglass work. A bid to repair the three lower pieces was $1350, slightly more than total replacement of all five pieces of the round cowl and radiator shroud. And almost double what MacBeans need for the three lower pieces. As an aside, they have been very supportive of the repair efforts. Will probably try repair on my own with some local support to see if acceptable examples can be completed. My glass experience includes farings for the windscreen on RV9 and light weight skin of mahogany ply kayak.
Will keep you posted.
