I am about to order a canopy from Todd’s canopies for my RV8.



If you have one of his canopies, please let me know your opinion of the canopy and of the customer support.

I have one and the skirts from Van's need a lot of work.  I cracked my first one and Todd took care of me....top notch customer service!

IMHO, the Todd's RV-8 canopy's have an odd look.  They are kind of humped about  1/3 of the way back and give the plane kind of a cartoon look.  The Van's stock canopy is more even in the slope and much more P-51 like.  I do like the fact that Todd's canopies are available in darker tint, but I just couldn't get past the aesthetics of them.

Thanks, Matt.  There is one on an 8 here with the tint, and I certainly have not noticed any humped look to it, and the tint is nice!

How’s your bird coming along?

About to reassemble the engine we’re overhauling, wings arrived a couple of weeks ago, and prop arrived today.  After the canopy, what remains are exhaust and avionics … of course and all the labor involved to do all the finish up work 😕
